Sara’s Henna – The Passion & The Merchandise!

13 04 2010

It’s funny just how much you can do when you’re passionate about something… and these last few days have really taught me that if you want to do something and if you’re passionate about it… the sky’s the limit! This business started off as a way of channeling my energy and emotions into something tangible just to keep my mind occupied while going through a hard phase in life. Henna kept me going and gave me something to do. I never even imagined that it would be received so well by the people in HK but it’s amazing that it has been. Someone once told me that “if something’s meant to be, it will come easily without any hurdles and things will just happen for you”. I feel like I have been on this amazing and exciting journey since I started my henna business in HK 7 months ago, and somehow things have just happened one after another and I’ve happened to be at the right place at the right time!

In the last few days, I have been inspired to create more than just henna tattoos on bodies… I was inspired to create henna t-shirts as well as henna cupcakes… using two completely different mediums to achieve the same aim = broadening my horizons of the art of henna. At the RAW Indulgence fair this weekend, I not only painted henna tattoos on people, but focused a lot on the henna merchandise that I had created with the help of many other people! This merchandise included a variety of hand painted, unique one-off Henna designed T-Shirts, delicious Henna Cupcakes made from chocolate and vanilla icing, Henna Jewelry boxes with actual henna painted on them, as well as the real tattoos!

Thanks to RAW – Derek and Joyce for being so supportive of all my crazy ideas and being the inspiration behind most of these ideas! Thanks to Baking Maniac – Ankrish and Rishank for preparing the cakes and giving me the chance to design the henna designs on them. Thanks to my Dad and Mum- Mush for being the source of strength and for pushing me to go after my dreams… the realistic ones atleast:) Thanks to all of Sara’s Henna fans – seeing the visits to my site and the growing number of fans on my Facebook page gives me the motivation to keep going and keep reaching for the sky:)!

For a unique henna experience in Hong Kong, remember Sara’s Henna!
